The Perfect Swimsuit For A Tropical Vacay.

If you have read my blog posts on Costa Rica, you should have spotted a really dope swimsuit I wore for beach day in Punta Uva. Before I share my photos, I want to preface the pics by explaining two things. This post is not sponsored at all (wish it was) and this swimsuit is not my usual style. However, I got so many compliments and questions about my suit, that I thought it deserved its own post. Bonus video clip if you can read to the very bottom.

I have never considered myself to have the type of curvy and sexy body shape that could pull off any of the swimsuits on the Riot Swim’s catalogue. However, it was the request of my retreat hosts that everyone purchase a suit from this company for our group photo at the beach. So I obliged. I chose the “curry” color because my mother always told me that I looked lovely in yellow. Then I chose a mono-kini style because I was having serious mid-sections insecurities. The “Phoenix One Piece” seemed like the safest option. I thought the extra straps would cover up my “pooch”, but it actually emphasized it. Ah well. Lastly, the thong bottoms were my biggest concern. There were no full coverage bottoms on their site. That’s when I realized the retreat hostesses were up to no good. What was this retreat all about, exactly? Those were my nervous thoughts before entering my payment method. I actually do not even wear thongs in my regular daily life. I had no idea what I would like like in a swimsuit thong. I considered wearing a matching sarong to cover up my exposed hot cakes, but ultimately decided to wear my shorts instead. In hindsight, I should’ve got the coverup to make the outfit seamless.

I ordered the small. My waist was a 27 at the time and bust 34B. Although I have a short torso, I should have gone with a medium. Because I have a short torso, the swimsuit waste sat much higher on my body than my natural waste. You still couldnt tell it was too small. The bandeau provided full coverage.

The color was so vibrant. and the fabric was second skin soft and luxurious. The swimsuit was comfortable despite being a size too small. There was a high-quality stretch to the fabric that made me feel confident that nothing would slip out 🙂

Here’s how it looked on my friend who is more curvy than I. We had on the same suit in different colors. I believe she is wearing the Citrus color.

At first, I was my normal awkward self in my Phoenix mono-kini thong, until people kept complimenting me on the color, style, and on my body! I began to feel sexier in my own skin immediately. The curry shade on my chocolate skin popped against the tropical green jungle backdrop and I started channeling my inner goddess.

Once I realized I looked pretty hot in this suit, I found a little house tucked away by the beach and commenced my solo photo shoot.
